Q. Is State Sponsorship Services a registered migration agent? A. No. We are business consultants who specialise in supporting business migration. We leave the legal work to trained agents while we develop the specialised business case.
Q. Why not? A. Firstly, we choose not to compete with our clients. Second, by simplifying our business model, we not only remain focused on developing good business strategy but can also become more efficient in our internal business processes = faster service, more competitive prices, better products.
Q. Should clients use an immigration agent? A. It’s personal choice, but DIAC have said that registered immigration agents lodge decision-ready applications (and what else would your clients and the Government want?). Unless clients have many hours to spend to educate themselves and are prepared for delays or knockbacks, they might like to consider using an immigration professional. Recent reports from DIAC indicate that “most agents have a very high success rate in terms of applications”. The key is choosing the right agent.
Q. Can applicants change State after they get their visa? A. Refer to the relevant State Government, DIAC or a qualified professional agent for individual advice. The risks are measurable and the price is high - possible cancellation of the visa. We advocate lodging an application in the preferred State, putting forward a properly formatted proposal for that State. This eliminates the risk of the first State withdrawing sponsorship which would probably invalidate any later application for Residence.
Q. Why apply under the State Sponsorship category? A. Numerous benefits - starting with fewer restrictions in terms of age and language skills, lower levels of funds required to be invested, lesser expectation for creating employment. Also, there is no minimum business equity required in the home country business and historic business turnover levels are lower.
Some State’s have excellent new business support services that can be accessed by known business migrants.
Lastly, State Sponsorship also reduces DIAC’s workload and may result in simpler decision making process - leading to a quicker decision.
Q. What are your fees? A. Each State has a different business plan format, so prices are matched to the individual complexity of State requirements and applicant intentions.
Please send us your enquiry and we will respond with a quote. Our fees can be lower where many well prepared cases are sent to us by a contracted, registered migration agent.
